Conference for Mentors - August 7-8, 2008

Another Apples of Gold conference is at hand. We cordially invite you to attend our 2008 conference for mentors at Colonial Heights Baptist Church, in Colonial Heights, VA, a suburb of Richmond.

We are so excited to invite you to this beautiful part of the country, the rolling hills of Virginia, and remember Virginia is for Lovers, so you may want to take your spouse on this trip.

Are you looking for a ministry that will unite the generations in your church, neighborhood and community? Has the Lord been nudging you to obey the mandate of Titus 2:3-5 for some time now? Come and learn how Apples of Gold is reaching into the hearts of communities around the country and around the world.

You will have the opportunity to meet well-seasoned mentors and those brand new. Workshops for each lesson will be given at three different times, so you can visit more than one. Workshops also include how to start this ministry in your area, both Apples of Gold for the younger women and Appleseeds for your pre-teens who so need this instruction.

Hear about how Apples of Gold is reaching outside the local church into the neighborhoods and communities, to missions and Crisis Pregnancy Centers.

The new Spanish version of Apples of Gold, Manzanas de Oro, is reaching the Spanish speaking community with the joy of the Lord. I have visited some of these classes, and the women are so thankful for this ministry just for them. Apples of Gold is now printed in four languages: English, Spanish, Dutch and Portuguese. An Italian version is in process, and a young Asian woman is translating Apples of Gold into Chinese. What JOY!

Colonial Heights has graciously invited us to be their guests in their brand new church facility. The women of Colonial have been planning for months for your visit. I have personally visited the facility and met some of the committee members and their chairwomen, Ellen Moore and Shannon Stanton.

Because of the generosity of the church, our conference registration is $55.00 this year. Many members of the church are giving sacrificially of their time and service to make this a great event. Our hosts are planning 50 tables beautifully decorated for you with ideas you can take home to your classes. Read Betty’s newsletter for more information.

With nearby historic sites, including Williamsburg, Washington DC, Annapolis MD, and Mount Vernon VA, you may want to consider filling a van or bus to tour for a day or two following the conference.

Your local airport is Richmond (RIC). It is an easy to navigate airport
